For those of you who have been following the various regulations around the globe (like we have better things to do) you will have probably heard that last month the CDC in the USA declared that if you were fully vaccinated then you didn't need to wear a mask indoors. Venues / shops are at liberty to set their own rules to require masks if they wish.

Many states - the ones where the Governor was against masks - implemented the immediately and I witnessed the results in both Nevada and Arizona on my recent trip there. California did not.

Today - June 15th- was the official day that California implemented the CDC rules, so as I needed milk & eggs, I went shopping. To Wal-Mart, because if there is anywhere you want to shop where you get a cross range of people, but mainly those living pay-check to pay-check and not the most well read, it's Wal-Mart.

There was a sign at the door stating that those fully vaccinated had the option of not wearing a mask and the end result when I got inside. Approximately 90% of the shoppers and staff were still wearing masks.

Were they aware of the new rules? Probably. Were they like Christine not taking any chances, even though there was a high likelihood that they were fully vaccinated (California has the highest rate of vaccinations in the USA), probably. Vaccines aren't perfect, they are 90% effective and we have over 600,000 people dead in the US from COVID.

The next few months are going to be interesting, especially as the shelves are looking very empty as we start to run out of things again. 2021 is going to be a mess in lots of other ways that 2020 wasn't.
