I realized I've made it to a 200-day streak on Duolingo (technically I'm at 201 days including today). I simultaneously feel like I have learned a lot and not really learned anything. I think it's because I'm refreshing my French skills and a lot of the "new" words are some I've learned 10 years ago but need a brushup on.
It hasn't even been all that difficult to make it to 200 days. I've linked the habit with my writing and neither takes too long. I do feel hopelessly behind on replying to comments and reading your posts but maybe I will get to that eventually. If I don't I apologize. It's not because I don't want to.
It feels nice to be working on my language skills. Languages have never been a big interest, maybe because it requires hard work and it's a slow process that takes years. I'd say I'm fluent in English but there is still a lot to learn. I have even more to learn in French. Unless I move to France I will probably never become fluent in French. I'm not a fan of unfinished projects like that.
I hope moving out will give me the mental energy to also pick up an instrument or work on my math skills. The time to do it is now before my brain becomes too rigid. A little work every day means progress and maybe I'll end up with a 200-day math streak as well.
