Keeping up the habits

I don’t want to keep up the habits. Keeping up the habits is no fun. It’s hard sometimes to stick at something when the honeymoon period has worn off.

I’m tired at the mo. It was a busy weekend, and a busy day yesterday.

I spent the day at work, as you do when you have a job. It was one of those days where things don’t really work and you’re battling to just get things working again.

And alongside that I was trying to plan a last minute trip away.

I met up with a friend and we made a decision and booked a place. Then found out the return train trip is a rail replacement. Hmmph.

So then looked at hiring a car. Cool not too expensive. Ok.

Then found out my mate can’t drive as her license needs converting (hello New Zealander’s y’all everywhere).

Then we started to have some doubts whether the place we’d booked was the best. So we messaged another option to see if they would respond, as their listing looks dead.

So far neither the property we booked or the one we enquired at has responded, and we don’t have a way of getting to either.

I was supposed to be at the gym this morning. I haven’t been since Thursday.

My parents visited at the weekend and saw how tired I was. Mum says I should take a week off.

I wasn’t planning on missing the gym this morn. But here I am, still in bed, tired despite a good amount of sleep.

And then my mate invites me to a jazz event tonight. To go and be more tired or to rest and FOMO?

Writing these words on the daily is becoming tough too. I feel like I’m plateauing, that I’m writing easy things that aren’t very interesting. For now I’m pushing on with it, but for how long I’m not sure.

On days like today, I feel the pressure.

Sticking to these habits is hard. Let’s see how I go.
